Letter From New Head of School Willie Banks III

Greetings “Panther” Family:

It is my sincere pleasure and honor to be a member of this learning community to begin serving as the Interim Head of School at Wright Preparatory Academy. I am looking forward to working with this dedicated staff, of all three modalities, to provide the best possible educational program and experience for our students. I am excited to begin working and building successes together.

My life has been impacted by great teachers that kindled my interest to learn and encouraged me to do my best. The teachers that where the most memorable exhibited a deep care and love for children. Reflecting on my educational experiences, I have realized how powerful a teacher’s influence can be.  I am passionate about the relationships we will forge with our students.

While our learning is still not 100% traditional, our teams will continue to reach higher and further through online hybrid and traditional platforms, to provide engaging and challenging learning experiences to all students.  Our continued commitment to fostering resilience, perseverance, grit, empathy, and the ability to communicate effectively in diverse learning partnerships will undoubtedly help our students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally during the time of this pandemic.

For the remainder of the year, we will continue to concentrate on proceeding towards advancement by evaluating what we have, determining what we need, and identify where we need to make improvements. It takes a village to raise a child. Parents, administration, teachers, support staff, and community interaction play a crucial part in helping our students meet and exceed our expectations

Team Wright will be focusing on all the positives that we can take from this experience and as the role models in our young Panther’s’ lives. It is important that we display a positive attitude towards distance learning each and every day. I encourage you to do the same at home.

I am looking forward to meeting each and every one of you. You will find that my door is always open, and I am here to support you in any possible way.

Sincerely,
Willie Banks III, M.Ed.
